Arrival garden
The design for this garden was inspired by its setting adjacent to natural woodland and a seasonal dingle, as well as the need to solve existing drainage problems that resulted in erosion. The driveway flares out in a geomorphic pattern to accommodate two parked cars without excessive paving. The wide front entry landing of Goshen stone and boulders is inviting and gracious, providing a place to sit and chat with neighbors. A cobble swale defines the driveway edge and channels water from the house and driveway to the street.
